Stan has been chosen as Pet Of The Month for November! Stan was diagnosed with Lymphoma two weeks before Christmas last year, since then he has undergone several rounds of chemotherapy. He went into remission in February but unfortunately relapsed at the start of summer and has been continuing chemotherapy almost weekly since. Despite being a little needle phobic Stan is very brave and tolerates his chemotherapy extremely well. He also works with his owner as a therapy dog for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Foundation Trust, supporting adolescents with substance use difficulties and mental health problems. He visits schools to help deliver education to young people about substances and mental health, supports anxious young people to ‘face their fears’. He also offers his support during family therapy sessions where he will move quietly to lie next to an upset, agitated young person. His owner says "he brings a constant sense of comfort to us all and is great at making us laugh!" Stan is a very well loved patient by everyone at Cambridge Veterinary Group and constantly amazes us with his resilience and calm demeanor. Well done to Stan and his fantastic owner, we hope he will continue to do well!
